Cleaning up the old saw junk now that I have my MS361. I need a pruning saw and was thinking about fixing up either of these or selling them to get a little stihl. Are they worth putting any time into, or are they ebay candidates? The 3516 runs good, just has an idling issue in the carb. The poulan hasn't been run in years, but it is a compact little saw. Both are hand-me-downs and just taking up room. I need something for my apple trees and to always have on my ATV, maybe with the bar removed and tucked into the rear seat so it doesn't take much room.

That little Poulan is cute!

I'm having a blast rebuilding my old Poulan 3450. I've never restored anything before, and with the help of the guys on this site I'll at least get it put back together. So you might consider fixing your old saws up just so you can have some fun.

If you do pick up a new Stihl, I'm real happy with my MS180. It is a nice saw for homeowner / light use. Of course, I really wanted to buy a MS200 for my small saw. :)

Hognose bars work good for trim work Scott. I am using a 10" hognose on the 1800 and a 12" hognose on the 2000.
I do have a Stihl 011 AV in the trader section FS or trading purpose. If you decide you cant fix them.
I have run out of winter projects already. :(

Thanks for the pm cut. The 011 may be just what I am looking for. I am going to put some gas in each of them tomorrow and see what they do. I must have 10 bars and chains that were given to me with them. May keep the little poulan, it is original looking. May be a good one to get running and leave up to camp? Will be in touch on the 011 Cut, thanks,
Ed
