let me put it this way . If you think you are going to slap it down on some timbers and got o town it is not going to happpen if you wantquality boards. the mill needs to be on a perfactally flat surface to get straight boards. it almost needs a metal subframe that will support the weight of the logs you plan to mill.Most of the logs I mill push the saw to the max . If you buy a hudson get the bigger engine that they offer I have a 6hp, don't get me wrong it works well. When you get in to a big hard wood log it bogs the engin way down very slow going. (22" wide Ash log's) for the money I think the saw is well worth it .
