I had the chance to get the saw mill up and running .I haven' had the opertunity to run the sawmill in the last 2 years.after a while tinkering with getting the mill level . install a new balde get everything lubed up

The mill is a Hudson oscar 28 . I built a longer and heavier subframe for it to get it up off the ground . I also put an axel under it and a tongue on the front so I can pull it down the road.

great pics, been looking into that model hudson for some time now, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. How has your experience been with the sawmill?

let me put it this way . If you think you are going to slap it down on some timbers and got o town it is not going to happpen if you wantquality boards. the mill needs to be on a perfactally flat surface to get straight boards. it almost needs a metal subframe that will support the weight of the logs you plan to mill. Most of the logs I mill push the saw to the max . If you buy a hudson get the bigger engine that they offer I have a 6hp, don't get me wrong it works well. When you get in to a big hard wood log it bogs the engin way down very slow going. (22" wide Ash log's) for the money I think the saw is well worth it .

Nice work. I have bobcat envy.

You uploaded your photos which is good, but then you have to click on the image button which creates an html reference to the picture in the post when the box comes up click on the "from url" tab & paste the url of your picture in the box and then uncheck the box that says "Retrieve remote file and reference locally"

test. Good work with that bandmill. Feet per minute? Thanks for the picture upload info. Format changes now and again.

I never really coculated the board foot per minute. But the one big log I milled this past weekend after I got it all squared up I had 12x18 hemlock cant . one pass takes about 1 1/2 minutes maybe 2 depending on howmany knots are in the wood.
