Mine is broken below the choke handle and it's really bothering me! If you have a parts saw I'd be willing to pay a fair price for a decent used piece.

I have PayPal, it seems to work best for me. Thanks, Clint

I guess I'm still looking for a carb base for this saw... Also looking for a spark plug wire, I don't know if it's part of the coil? But it's broke right up by the boot. I've looked online and in my parts manual and it doesn't look like something you can buy seperately??? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I might have a spare carb base and the spark plug wire is just screwed into the coil. Remove the whole unit, unscrew, remove head and spark plug cap. Install new chunk of wire from auto parts store.

Thanks for the info!
Well, let me know if you do have one and how much you want for it...
Thanks, Clint

Thanks. Just out of curiosity, there's a guy here on the local craigslist trying to sell a decent looking Dolmar 133 for $345. How much are these saws worth? That seems pretty steep to me. I also saw a 9010 on the Reno Craigslist for $280!

I've called 6 times on the Reno saw and left a message 3 times. No return calls.

That's on the high side for a 133. It better be the cleanest one you've ever seen for that kind of cash. If it were a 143 or 143mx I could see maybe going that high if I wanted a cheaper 90cc+ saw but still pretty high.

$345 for an 85cc saw that will hang with any modern saw its size is not a bad price if the saw is in good shape.
I actually just clicked the link I posted above and it's $325, not $345! So how does that saw compare to the 7900, or other 85cc saws (064, 385)?

The biggest problem is that parts are getting harder to find, that and it weighs 18lbs+.
yeah, I have a hard enough time getting parts for the 7900. I called my local Dolmar dealer (50 miles away) and they told me they don't keep parts in stock because nobody around here buys them.

Why are they even a Dolmar dealer? That series of saw should be easy to get parts for

I don't know? They must deal in other brands too. Even when I order parts online most of them are out of stock. I'm not sure why, I know these saws have a following.

Have you tried looking up a local makita tools dealer and ordering the part strait through them? Ebay has them every so often when someone splits up a saw for parts too.

here's the IPL and part number

looks like $50-$60 from online dealers. If I were you I would get a good plastic epoxy and do a temporary fix until someone replys to your thread here or you find one on ebay for $15-$20

Sorry mine was broke btw.

I think I'm gonna have to scrap the project. I was working on it last night and I pushed the chain brake handle forward and a big chunk popped out if the case where the chain brake bolts on. I think this saw was abused badly by someone before I bought it. I don't know if I should just part it out and try to recoup some of my costs, or just try to sell the whole saw for parts? I don't know if I could epoxy it back together, but it broke in a spot that sees a lot of stress when the brake is applied (not that I use it).
