i was looking at one of the makita saw distributers.. had that 79 cc saw listed at
abnd i think the 73 cc saw listed 13.5 dry wt. without..does that thing actually weigh less than he 372.. i know these things been discussed a lot.. but i gotta see that.. is that the sure nuff truth..thanks tony marks

Tony i weighed the 372's and the 7900
with both saws with nogas no oil and no spures< dwags >
the 372 was 14 pounds and 8 oz,

the 7900 was 14 pounds and 10 oz. and that is the correct weight for those saws

Eph,

Did your 372 have full wrap or heated handles? If so it will weigh more then a 372 without them.

Rick

Ed, since as far as I know the Dolmar don't have full-wraps available, is "the same kind of handle" half-wraps or no?

Thanks,
Glen

thanks ehp.. cant figure why these manufactureers want to cheat on wt a little bit..knowing the true wt ,i still think its a heck of a saw..thanks again..
they make a real good tool then put question to their credibility with little white lies..not that im innocent of that my self in the past. mabe in the future but im working on it..:)

1/2 wrap handle
not sure why they and that means all saw companys want to lie about there weight

guess its a decision made by one o them thar human beings.. like u an me.. sometime they can be a shifty lot huh:D

I took off the chain, bar and bucking spikes on my 372xp.Fuel and oil tanks were drained.Mine is a high top 1/2 wrap handle (not full wrap or heated handle).

Total weight 13.8 lbs.

Factory published weight without cutting equipment is 13.4 lbs.My saw is heavier than the published weight (if bucking spikes are included in cutting equipment) by 6.4 oz.Fuel/oil pump/lines were not drained and their may be other factors that would compensate for some of the additional weight.I keep my saw clean, but it's not factory new/clean.

Saw was weighed on a electronic scale graduated in hundredths of a pound.I rounded to the nearest tenth:)
