I was wondering what a 1955 Mall 2MG is worth in good shape with a bow bar?
I tried the search feature with no luck.

Thanks Mac

Does anyone know the value of this saw??? I went and looked at it today and it is in very good cosmetic condition. It seems to have good compression. This is the oldest saw I have ever seen. The pivoting bar was something I had never seen.

Thanks Mac

2mg

Mac,
I don't know where Broadway is, but I'm in South Boston, Va. if you ever wanna come up and see some of mine.
My 2MG cost me about $125 after shipping two years ago. It had no muffler then, but it ran almost right away. If you don't care for the bow,I'll trade you my bar and Mall brand chain. The usual carb cleaning, points dressing and such will help, but the biggest problem could be with the Bendix Scintilla coil. The insulation will crack open and allow moisture(humidity) inside and the windings obviously degrade fairly fast after that. Maybe yours can be fixed with some new insulation if it's cracked open. That is, I have gotten spark from them after completely covering them with silicone caulk!
Doesn't work every time of course. These guys are gonna demand you post some pics to prove this saw actually exists! Lemme know if I can help you with the saw.
Igpoe:cheers:
Buy it, make it run...........you'll be happy you did

Here's mine. Would it happen to have the same coil that's on my DA-211s? I haven't been under the hood yet on the 2MG. Sorry about the proof watermarks. Someone tried to use my pictures to sell their saw.

Brad,
I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure all the Malls have the same coil if they're Bendix. My 7,11, and both Logmasters have the same one.

I was going through Dads barn tonight and found a Mall chainsaw gear drive. no bar a carb, muffler. 3-1 gear drive. Rough shape. Looks like it might have been blue . all the ones I found on the www is red. Do I have the right model 2mg looks the same..... Probly not gona fix..

Naturally a pic would help with the ID,but I've never seen a blue Mall saw.
Remington, yes. And it's just my opinion but I think everyone who has as many as three chainsaws should have a 100cc gear-drive! I wouldn't hesitate to fix it.

:agree2: A picture would help. And 100cc gear drive is always a good thing!
