Mcculloch Mini Pro 30.
Ignition coil seems to have failed.Am wondering if there's a modern equivalent? With electronic ignition perhaps.I've thoroughly cleaned points so thats not the issue. There's a minor tingle to the fingers if i spin the flywheel with a drill.

Is there a part number?

I had (at one point) a Mini MAC 160s that had electronic ignition on it. I'm pretty sure it came that way, and suspect that is the (s) differentiator in 160s. Good luck finding one. I suggest looking in dumpsters.

Also, I have never seen a bad mini coil that wasn't caused by a mechanic throwing it in a fit of rage. The slight tingle you mention almost supports this. I'd clean & de-grease the points again and check the flywheel key. When adjusted properly, they'll throw a blue spark just by rolling it over with your hand on the bench. No need to bolt the flywheel on to test. Just set it in place firmly. Do NOT forget the points cover, however. Nothing more fun than removing the engine from its shell a second time after it is hot from test running....

The gearboxes as a unit on the 1-6X, 1-8X, 640, and 8XX saws are completely interchangeable but...only the 640 and 8XX came with the automatic oil pump added on to the side of the gear case. The output/sprocket shaft for the gearbox with the automatic oil pump is different from the others, threaded portion sticks out farther to drive the automatic oiler pump.

Not all parts inside the gearboxes will interchange either since there were different ratios available.

Here is a couple pics. Ran out of data on my phone.
Still was unable to get her to run. Also have started a list of parts needed.

A couple of the issues with is the plug wire was broke into and spliced together. The other is after pulling on it a couple time, fuel was coming out of the exhaust. May be issues with the carb.
I don't recall seeing any pics or 1-10s with this carb. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Post the pics, I'm sure we can help.

Also, you may have a AS member close to you if you care to post your home city and state.

I'm pretty much in Hattiesburg Ms.
If someone could point me to the best place or person for parts, would be appreciated

I'm in north AL. Sorry that I'm too far to help in person. It was worth a shot. Maybe someone here is closer.

Anyway, I'll be glad to help with any issues that you post here.

SDC Carburetor, better for you since kits are readily available and the carburetor is easy to work on. Some 1-10 models had the flat back/bull frog carburetors that are a lot more challenging.

Do some searching and read through a few threads on carburetors and testing. Best place to start on that one is to carefully disassemble it keeping track of all the pieces, take some photos as you go to help you remember how it came apart.

Flooding is most likely due to a faulty metering needle or perhaps just some crud under the needle.

It's the thought that counts.
Would the carb posted above be correct for the 1-10?
And is it possible to replace the plug wire on the coil?? Or should I hunt for
for new coil?
Will say the motor is really nice inside and out. Just beat up bad on the outside.

That carburetor would have been correct on some 1-10 saws, Serial number prefix 11-

Coil wire can be replaced, again search. They unscrew but rarely come out cleanly so you have to come up with a way to dig the remnants out of the hole. There is a stud like a wood screw thread that the wire attaches to. I bought some hollow "screw removers" from Rockler, don't really work all that well for removing damaged wood screws but are great for getting the plug wires out of the coils. They are even left hand bits so they help with the unscrewing of the wires.

Everything was pretty snug. Actually have it torn completely down.
Going to fix or replace things as I go.
Going to see about getting carb back in working order and fix my plug wire.
Just a couple steps at a time. This is my first old saw to overhaul. So going to take my time on it. Think it would be nice to have a older saw up and running here. Not very many down here.
No close neighbors. So I want bother anyone with the loudness :)
