Damn, someone thinks highly of it! It definitely has been cleaned up nicely, but I think it has had a little more use than the seller implies, at least judging by the condition of the bottom of that handle. Good paint job though. Well, except for painting right over the fuel line in the airbox.

Wonder what they meant by "gone over by a McCulloch dealer"?? Do any still exist in the US?

I've been wondering if some spray-on bedliner paint will work well for the crinkle finish on the SP81 I have to rejuvenate. Looks like it will, based on this one.

Look at the wear on the bottom of the handlebar is a dead give away. This saw has seen a lot of use. The cylinder has been painted. If you look at the last picture that shows the handlebar you can see pitting on the chain cover and the oil tank cover. Even if this saw was out of the box old dealer stock I don't thing it would be worth what they are asking.

By the way Mark, Have fun in Brazil. I built some of the cellular their. Like it their.

Well, you guys zooming in have spoiled my visions of a SP81 that grandpa started once and put away for later.
I too liked the crinkle and the older bar.

Good thing I work cheap. Spent a couple hours tonight trying to make a hex head chain adjuster screw to help with my poor dexterity. Third attempt worked. Will have to see how it works in the field.

Noticed that my muffler is loose again. I will tear into that later this week to see what has happened. Hopefully just heat expansion. We will see.

Nice job on the duckbill replacement. I've had to do that on a couple saws myself.

You know, that cork ring around the gas cap rim is relatively easy to replace. Gently pry the old gasket out of the cap with a pick. Get a sheet of cork gasket material and then lay the old one on and trace around, cut it out, and it's ready to go. Fix those leaky caps.

I almost forgot to say that I’ve ran one of Marks saw dust shields. No problems so far.

Thanks Mark! I’ll be buying some more.

Will that dust shield work for a 10-10 series? I have a 10-10 Automatic that needs one so I'll buy one if available.

Thanks,
Rob

Woo hoogot 1-43 running again last night so it goes to the woods this weekend. Need to cut three load this weekend. For a heavey old thing I really enjoy that old 1-43. Need to get the super 250 running but that will wait till summer

I ordered my 3D printer last weekend, should be there when I get home again and I could be printing up new ones as early as next week. I will have black and yellow ABS since it produces a better looking product overall.

These will work on all 10 Series with the one piece sawdust guard. If there is interest in the three piece guards used on some early 10 Series models I can see about printing something like that as well.
