I've been using the orange gel type lock tight on some saw stuff and I haven't had any failures yet.Poge,
It is pin #7. When it is loose then the latch doesn't hold very well. I dinged the pin shaft up this last go around. It held for a while. I am going to try the adhesive approach recommend some posts back.
It is only the 800 and newer covers that I have had this problem. The old 700 works fine.
Thanks,
Ron
I think I have a long cover without any flag parts but its got pins if your interested, I'll toss it in the mail.Poge,

Unless someone else on here has already started bidding on it and you've posted interest in it I highly doubt anyone here will snipe it.Off topic, but here goes:
1st what is the most common problem, or cause of the automatic oilers not working?
2nd I really feel the need to spend money for a pro Mac 850. I would assume anyone on this site who owns one is also wanting to keep it!
There is one on eBay right now. I would rather not do a bidding war with someone that's on this site.
Go for it and good luck!Off topic, but here goes:

Yes there are 2 previous bidders. It seam a bit high to me especially on a saw of its age. Plus taking the sellers word it starts.Unless someone else on here has already started bidding on it and you've posted interest in it I highly doubt anyone here will snipe it.
And who doesn't "feel" like they should spend money on a 850 Mac?!
Thanks for the kind offer. I have several complete covers and just want to fix this one. It seems MAC parts, especially NOS parts, have gone from plentiful to somewhat scarce in the last few years so you might need to hang on to it.I think I have a long cover without any flag parts but its got pins if your interested, I'll toss it in the mail.
I just blew my overtime money. On the eBay 850. I think I could have held off and found one cheaper, buty wife was egging me on.Thanks, but your speaking a foreign language what is O*P*E ? Some of you McCulloch gurus would actually prefer the 800 correct?
