Back to MACs. Have I achieved my goal? Or have I fooled myself yet again? Just picked up this BIN. I was worried that someone would bid while I checked with you guys so I just pulled the trigger.


This listing is for a 1976 McCulloch super Pro 125C Bi-Centenial edition . This saw runs excellent and starts easy. Everything works as it should, clutch, starter, compression release, etc. It has an Oregon 52" bar that has been dressed and trued. The chain is a 404 skip tooth chisel bit square file that is brand new. The saw came from the factory with the 101 Kart engine on it and the compression release. These saws were all Red White and Blue. The Kart engine was an option. You can see the flywheel cover is blue ( originally ) and the cylinder cover is red ( original ) I am not sure what was supposed to be white on it but I think it was a part of the starter that has since been replace. Naturally it still had some yellow on it to let people know it was a Mac. Even without the Kart engine these saws were a ledgend and still are. go on you tube and everyone is still comparing their modern day saws to this beast and this saw has been out of production for about 30 + years.

If you are into chainsaw collecting this is a rare chance to aquire one of only a few of this edition ever made. Please ask questions before bidding and thanks for looking.

I wish I could. But GTGs are even more dangerous than the videos on this site. I keep telling myself and others here that I am not a collector and I don't need or even want any more saws yet I check in everyday and cruise eBay everyday. Next thing you know, another saw materializes. I haven't even gotten all the replacement parts for the last two I didn't mean to buy. Before long there will be a new series on cable as a spin off of Hoarders Buried Alive - say MAC ATTACK, CAD Gone Amuck.

Y'all ever see one of these before?

I thought it was kinda neat, but I can see why they weren't very popular. Very easy to smash down on the vent or in on the grips and make it ineffective. Also it would just spin on a tight cap. You'd have to pop it to refuel. Might stick it on the 101, it'd look good with the chrome shrouds.

The saw I just bought appears to have one of these. It is only the second saw I have ever since with one. The first time I thought it was just a homemade gas cap. Ron

Just added a ProMac 10-10 to the fleet. I'm up to three yellow ones, all "10 series."

Do all 10 series leak oil out the front cover? Both 10-10's and the 700 have puddles under them.

Yep, my 10-10 does as well but the leak is in the top of the front cover and only leaks when filling the oil.

abc check? Never heard it said that way before. Interesting way of saying spell check.

In general, most of these old saws have basically gone through the roof on prices, noticeably the Macs. The PM 800/805/850 series saws are going for buku bucks right now. Still not gonna sell mine, I know I'll regret it. It's quite something to rebuild something from a box of parts and make it run. I like being able to do that and look at what I rebuilt, and to know I did it.
