Sounds like good fun Ron.
After removing some foreign objects off my bench, there is a box of nice and shiny 82cc parts that will be turned into a chainsaw. I have ideas and picked up some interesting info from Al Smith.

I guess I should be ready for the "REVOKED" stamp to come out.

It is yellow and a geardrive and a Beaver and ass backward.

Randy ... what is a Cox saw doing in this thread? :msp_confused:

I like the pistol grip!!! Looks weird with the bar on the wrong side. Its like its a left handed saw.

Was at the local saw shop yesterday and I saw a pair of older Macs sitting off by themselves. One was a 10-10 auto covered in bird poop and the other was a Mac 3-10 but the nameplate said "MAC 3-10 DSP". I've never heard of one of these. They were both had J-red "drag it or bag it" tags on them so there went trying to get a hold of them. Any info on what a Mac 3-10 DSP is?

Here is the 4th chapter in the three saw plan: Mac 10-10A I bought from the son of the original purchaser. I just took it out of the box, wiped it a bit and shot these photos. Planning on firing it off tomorrow or the next day. No plans on doing any restorative work at all ...

Pretty sure that was a 3-10 equipped with a compression release.

Pro Mac ...

i like the "Shop Monkey" above your avatar nice touch... lol

Now I wonder which grumpy, eccentric magnesium junkie gave him that handle...:D

Very nice! Looks like it came off the line on the same day as mine. Yours is in a bit better shape though. What length bar is that? Mine has a 16" grey/black "MAC-10" bar that looks to be about 2" shorter than the one on your saw.

Very nice. Saw number FOUR in the three saw plan? Sounds like you dont need this little gem at all. Send me a PM if you have any itch to sell it.

I may be persuaded to sell or trade mine. Not attached to it yet. It's a 10-10A just like Warped's, except for a bit of light corrosion in a few spots. It appears to be a strong runner.

Good news:

#1 - new.

#7 - used includes 8 & 9 with washers (the bolts are slotted hex heads but have a raised rim so I'm not sure they are genuine).

Bad News:

#3 - I thought I had 5. I need two. You need three. I found none. I organized all my parts recently so I might have used them on the three saws I sold. Or they might be with my 125 parts but I doubt it.

#4 - my spare is a 89320 which fits a PM850, etc. It has a different shape then the 89400.

PM your address and I'll send them to you. If I find #3, I'll mail them to you. As you know you can't get these in a hardware store which is why I gathered some. I have plenty of the longer recoil housing screws.

Ron

Sounds good to me Ron. I'll see if I can find some oval head starter screws for us. Wikl PM you in a minute. Posting with a cell phone is WORK...

Just measured it .. 16" and it will stay that way. That's how it left the factory.

I have a 20" Speed Mac bar coming .... but not for this saw.

Just got off the phone ordering some NOS 125C parts. Assuming Seller's inventory sheets are correct I should have a NOS tank/handle (trigger lock type - didn't have old type), AF cover (actually a 125 cover - didn't have the 125C but I like old style better anyway), crankcase assembly:clap:, piston assembly and seals coming to me soon. I have an oil tank, chainbrake, DSP valve and av mount already. NOS muffler assembly is in the mail. I just emailed an availability and price request for trigger parts, bearings, crankshaft, connecting rod assembly, handle bars, chainbrake collar, and oiler assembly. Debating on whether to reuse old starter and flywheel cover assembly. All else will come off old saw including ignition, cowlings, and muffler cover. Goal is to have a mechanically new working 125C powered saw - not a newly assembled factory correct 125C. Any other NOS part I should be looking for?

Thanks, Ron

Reminds me of that old Johny Cash song "one piece at a time" about the Cadillac... lol

Strange. My 10-10A has a 16" bar too (I measured it), but it looked shorter than what's on your pretty saw. Camera angle I guess. Doesn't help that I'm looking at a tiny cellphone screen..

I always wondered how he got one of those heavy chromed bumpers to fit in in his lunch box. And a 59 rear fender. At least his parts were free. Ron

Must have been a real Hefty eater with a LARGE lunch box. lol
True on the cost of the parts though lot cant beat free!!:msp_thumbup:

I remember reading somewhere here that the '3 saw plan' was not necessarily confined to just three saws. Plus, RandyMac insisted at one point (after seeing my S550 & SP 81) that "all I needed was a nice 10-10 to round out the 3 saw plan."

So my math is a little off .... I don't do my own taxes, either.

Glad you guys like it, it looks much better now than in the original pix I got.

It does look a lot nicer man. Nice saw Teddy

Chris
