i'm definetly a newbie to the forums, please explain. I'm sure its stupid simple, but i'm also stupid simple

There is a thread in the forum where members can post scanned drawings of bucking spikes for saws. That way, we have the ability to go to a machine shop to have spikes made of the material of our choice. Stainless looks sharp!

Maybe the spike thread needs to be a sticky.:msp_tongue:

I don't thinx I have the points necessary but maybe another member would pony up ... :givebeer:

Stuck in the '80s today Randy? Took today off and got Friday started early. Gotta get into the Makers 46 (high end Makers Mark stuff) Jenn just got me from Costco yesterday. Plan to sneak out tonight and fire up a cigar too...:D

You mean, he finally got into the 1980s.

Wow, for a minute there I thought I was a little slow. Seriously, how was I supposed to think of that. Ha

Eccentric, are you still looking for a 650 spike? will a super 33 spike work?

Thanks for the offer. They won't work though. The 33/35/39 spikes mount on the side of a flange cast into the gearbox. I've got two 35's (well until they head to Florida), and I've already checked...

The spikes I need for my 650 bolt to the front of the gearbox. It's a weird design. A McCulloch 55series/1-60series/1-80series/640/840/890/895 spike set will work however.

Ron, I have a box of mufflers, was going to hold Aaron's place for him.
You are a good man.

You're a good man as well Randy. Don't care what them Duke and Wingnut fellers sez about you. Thanks for thinking of me...

Hey Randy. You have a spare gearbox, oil tank, and other gear drive specific bits from a large (non X-10 series or 650/660) Mac gear drive in that 50+ pounds of McMagnesium? I have a 740 headed my way that I'd like to make into an 840. Back burner project...

... and please remember to post those dawgs in the spike thread!

I'll post 'em in the thread once I score a set of 'em Ted. For now, all I can come up with is dead mice.:D

Done in 6 hours and change.
It's stupid fat drunk xray night.
Booking is completely contaminated with OC, its got me blowing my nose all the way back here.

Spicey. The X's are the worst. They STINK, and are the worst drunks. BO, fingernails, screaming, and 'other' funk if their hygene isn't up to par. Sorry my friend. I'll make it a double RIGHT NOW in your honor. Back in a sec...

Yeah, that is why I don't do intake anymore. We received 6 in the last two hours, ages 19 to 28, all nasty.
We use Sabre 5.0, I'm 65 feet away in a straight line, practically in another building and I can taste it, no cigs for a couple hours.
I got stuck with OT, not sure when I will get out of here. There is only three of us here tonight, the slippery slope gets steeper every day.

Yuck. We use the 3.0 oz cans. Got some of the 'party size' that comes out for special occasions. Can't remember what brand right now (kinda foggy). Not Sabre. Red can lable with an eagle on it. I've been in that #### so thick that guys are throwing up after the 'business' is done. Skin burns just from it getting on sweaty skin. Gotten 'friendly fire' before too. That SUCKS. You got ME you ####head!!! At least it doesn't give me a headache like Mace does....

I volunteered for OT last Friday. Did 16 in the control room, and it screwed up my whole weekend. Migraine city all weekend. Need the money though. Didn't have time to be sick myself, as Hannah was down with the plumbing issues. She's much better now...

They took away my range instructor OT. LONG BS story there. Much more crap coming down the pipe. Will tell you about it over whiskey and cigars..........hopefully soon. If the GTG doesn't happen this fall, I'm scooting outa here the first weekend in September and running up your way. Will sleep on the beach if I have to. I need some stress relief time.

Gonna make some McNoise tomorrow. Got myself all riled up reading the latest EPA thread. Thought it was a bit of the 'tinfoil hat' going on...........until I read the regs on the EPA site. Some old, polluting Yellow, Red, and Blue magnesium will be thundering tomorrow I can tell you. Now where'd I put my drink. Ah........................Kentucky Windage...

Back on McTopic for a bit...

Got a question for Mark, Jacob, Lee, and all the other McGurus here:

Will a flywheel cover from a 'super series' engine such as a 790 fit and work on a S44A engine? I see the external profile of the cover on a S44A engine 'looks' like that of a 'super series' (compared to a 250 type cover).

Also, will a flywheel from a 200/250 work on a S44A without issue? Trying to help a guy convert a S44A to LH start...

Aaron,

I tried this on my 1-76, the 250 flywheel and the 1-76 flywheel were the same, aside from the pawls being there, or not there. Only issue when I put the LH start cover on was that the starter shaft was too short (+- .5 inch) It was unable to engage the pawls.

Then where the "hood" on the 1-76 is and where the spark plug cover is on the 250 starter needs some slight modification to work properly.

Been awhile here guys, internet was slow to get hooked up, I have been busy.
