I am trying to determine what model Mac this may be. I am guessing a 790 series, I had a 640 and recall the X40 series saws as having the front handle farther away from the saw than this one. Tag is missing on the AF cover, would like to know what it might be before I make a 5 hour round trip.

With that handlebar, if it's original, I guessing a 1-7? Series saw. The air filter cover is swapped though, so the only thing I can say for sure, from that picture, is that it is a Mac direct drive.

Here's my 890- the direct drive in this series have the front handle flush with the case. The gear drives mount have the handle bars offset from the case.
