Hello,

I have a McCullouh Mac 110 and have a problem with it. It has oil coming out of the exhaust! Everything around exhaust area is oil soaked. Took saw apart and cannot find problem can turn crank and when piston moves up & down oil squirts out of where exhaust fits onto engine! It is heavy weight oil and looks like bar oil and not 2 cycle. took tanks off and oiler off and not understanding how oil could possibly get into engine. This is second time I have had saw apart. First time, I drained out all oil that was in engine, cleaned saw up really well, put back together and started right up. cut up some limbs in back yard to test it out. Cut fine for this saw but then more oil coming out of exhaust again! Same issue, everything soaked with oil inside and coming out exhaust saw saw smoking like crazy of course!:dizzy:

Any know this saw and can you help me find problem so i can get it fixed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The oiler on that saw is a pulse pump operated by the crankcase impulses. It is the black housing with a clip over it and a small screw sticking out on the front of the engine. I'm betting you have a bad oring in there, and the bar oil is being drawn into the engine. Shouldn't be a huge deal to fix it. That is one of the FEW things you can access on a Mini MAC without taking the engine out of the shell.

Hey thanks for the prompt response. I know what your talking about as I have little oiler off and there is a oring where oiler fits to engine. It visually appears fine but that dosent mean anything with orings.

so you are saying to replace the oring or the oring & the oiler? Also, is the screw on the oiling unit an oil flow adjustment?

Thanks again!

The screw limits the travel of the piston, which in turn controls the output of the pump. The o-ring where the pump body fits against the engine probably IS fine. There is a little tiny o-ring in there on the shaft of the piston (MAC Part Number 105603) that I suspect is bad, or the pump is assembled incorrectly. Calvin (lawnmowertech37) should have the o-ring or the entire oiler (83886) if you need parts.
