Sweetgum is good firewood if you get it split. A hydraulic splitter is useful for that stuff. I've just about had a maul get me between the eyes trying to hit green rounds of gum.
I split most of it by hand with a monster maul but it's gotta dry for a year first. The fat cookie idea works. I was loading up 55 gallon drums with cookies today for using in the shop stove this winter. Got six drums full.Ya it's decent wood, but no splitter here so gonna make fat cookies that will be hand splittable after some drying and noodle some.
