Members & Guests????

I have noticed that the guest numbers are usually hirer than the members numbers, which on some occasions even with highspeed internet it drags down the response time.

So....if there are that many guests, I am wondering why not become members? or better yet....limit the number of guests & when it is maxed should a member sign in........kick one of the guests off!!

I can only imagine what some members who can only get dial up are thinking??? what do ya guys & gals think?

maybe a temp password & then sign up or move on????

Ha, ha, that's more true than you think. Maybe there should be a limit on back slappin' and butt grabbin'.

A lot of the "guests" are also "search bots" from places like Google, Yahoo, and Bing...

I think people figure they can lurk without the hassle of assault. Really, if I wasn't a tree guy I wouldn't put up with it. Really though, many other forums are not like this with the constant bragging and beat the next guy over the head attitude.

Yea nails, it comes from the work place. So obviously, other mother ####ers are not doing the work.

I am a member, and sign in with my AS user name, et al from my home computer. Sometimes I pull up AS from another site (work, friend's computer, library, etc.) and I do not log in officially, because I am looking for something specific, not sure about that computer's security (or can't remember my password!).

So some 'guests' may be also 'members'.

However, since we all sign in with a pseudonym, I don't mind if people browse. If they find it interesting, want the benefits of membership, or have something to post, they will join. I see it as a public forum.

After I found out I was broken and the Corps was done with me, they gave me a desk and a computer, I had no job for 8 months other than babysitting a bunch of troops. I couldn't log in to AS, but I sure lurked, everyday, day after day, month after month..............
