Yeah,

The Weather guessers spased out and missed again.

Got up at 0430 and tossed another log on the fire, and it was doing the normal night time lake effect "Dusting" it always does.

So far all we have is about 6" of new snow on the ground, and the Radar shows the storm is now East of us.

Tune into TV 8 or 3 News at noon. I'm sure there will be dramatic stories of "Blizzards" in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids cutting visibility to zero, causing delays etc.

I'm gonna finish Coffee and go break in a new Stihl Chain on some downed Cherry.
What a let down.

Stay safe!!

Almost and yes :D

I told the dealer I wanted to test drive it to make sure everything is working like it should and have them install the blower so I can verify it works right and won't need anything immediate. They said they'd get it ready for me today, but apparently were too swamped. Hopefully they'll call tomorrow so I can go check it out. I'm taking my trade in mower down there so if all looks good, I'll be bringing the new old unit home

And I think we're going skiing on Sunday

Congrats on the new Toy!!!

The Van Buren Trail Groomer will likely be running this afternoon if you're looking for some fresh X-Country trails.

Otherwise, have fun at the ridge!

LOL! That was at 5:30 when the wife woke me up frantic because channel 3 said there were "numerous slide offs" and "visibility near zero". I've been in a near zero blizzard a few years ago, and this was nowhere close. If people were sliding off it's because they were going too fast for conditions, not because the snow was too deep or low visibility. But, they need their ratings and if over-exaggerating the storm gets people to tune in, then I guess they'll continue to report on the doom and gloom, instead of just telling people to slow down a bit and they'll be just fine.

Y'know it used to be it took a REAL blizzard to close schools. Now if there is more than a couple inches they shut the entire state down. Pansies I tell ya, lol!

They sure have been way off with forecasts so far this year :dunno:

I thought when I left WA, I left the stupid over exaggerated snow forecasts behind :laugh:

It's been blowing pretty good here in Allegan which has made for some neat snow drifts on our back doors, but thats about it. 4-6" maybe

I wish I would have brought my fourwheeler with the snowplow home from the UP like my Dad wanted me too. I thought I would have my farmall cub back together. But the "good front bolster" I bought to replace the one I broke this summer is cracked too. I don't know how much snow we got but theres a foot of snow on the hood of my tractor behind the garage. So I probably got 6+ this last storm.

Report from Tulip Town

The Tulip City got 10-12" of snow during the morning, headed out to plow at 6am and had to do all the places we take care of twice. North of town towards south Olive had a lot more snow, about 10" in town, but some drifting started up with the winds. Apparently M-40 between Holland and Hamilton was terrible with blowing and drifting snow. I fired up my 1970 Ariens Sno-Thro and gave it a good workout cleaning up around the house, went through 2 tanks of gas and chewed through some drifts that were taller than the gas tank! They don't build 'em like that anymore!

OMG!!!!

I'm sitting here warming up and watching the tube, and they Closed schools and athletic events???

It's clear with a bit of lake effect every now and then....:dizzy:

The Malls in Kazoo, Holland and G.R. are probably bunghole to belly button with kids and angry moms shopping right now!!! LOL!!!!

Time to go post my field before the Sled heads decide to take a shortcut and find the old fenceline.

Stay safe!
(And dodge the shopper mafia!)

We only got about 5-6" of new stuff here. More coming tomorrow but not too much. We already have about 16-18" on the ground.

Golly, I knew there were lots of Michigan people reading this thing but not this many. Good to hear from you all. I live in Owosso and we didn't get the foot they predicted but I think we got a good 7.

Woke up this morning to another inch or two and she's snowing pretty good right now. Weather advisory says possible blizzard like conditions later in the day.
Abohoc...I have a BIL in Owosso...it is nice to see so many Michiganders. Might just have to plan a spring GTG.

That would be fun. My kid will be happy to hear about BR. he goes to school there but is home now for christmas. Right now we are getting flurries with at least a 40 mph wind. Spent all day with our big blower on the back of the tractor blowing snow. Looks like I'll be back at it today.

don't really need to munch more snow , they say its coming, I will be ready.TEDMI

It just does'nt let up around here. I dread going downstate for christmas because I know when I return my 850 ft driveway will be drifted shut.

Like the year 2000 but more snow

This winter here Michigan has looked the same as 2000 (December) but it appears we have more snow...ahhh I can't wait for January!! more snow and blowing snow here. it doesn't look like it will ever stop. :censored:
