i had the day off today so i went out to this crane job to take some pictures and a bit of video. the tree had been stripped and topped by myself about 8 months ago but then the spar was left standing because we were going to take it down in conjuction with another crane job but then that didn't happen so it took us a little longer to get back to it than expected. anyways climber is Russ Wilson. i tried to get the file sizes down as much as possible.

the scene:

really not a significant removal but i had the chance to take pictures at my leisure which I usually don't. clients were very picky about their yard/plants or we wold have just bombed the wood down.

western hemlock approx 120' this area was developed about 20 years ago, very rocky conditions, many of the trees are slowly declining or dieing as this one did.

I didn't ask how many ton capacity this crane was...we needed the reach but the picks weren't very heavy.

Nice work, curious since I am not familiar with that species in this area, how secure is that wood being without any foliage for 8 months? Any danger of drying out and cracking? Thanks for pictures.;)
