This saw needs no description. It is exactly what you see in the pics. Comes with orig owners manual. I bought this strictly for my brag shelf but have decided to cut it loose. 1991 saw. Doubt there is a nicer one out there.
Price: $600 shipped. Shipped UPS Insured

Oh man! I bought something like 3 saws and 2 pole saws / hedger multi tool thingy's this time last year right before Christmas so this year i will promise to leave the wallet alone!

I must admit it is not an easy thing to do when a saw this nice comes along. All the best with the sale it is worth every penny.

That particular 262 I got from my dear friend Clint. It will not be for sale. It's worth far more to me than market value. Kinda like my 395xp I got from Kenis. It's just a saw that is off limits.

It's a good thing I only got this saw out of the box once. I had forgotten how beautiful this saw was. I was just in awe of it. I thought to myself, "you will never hold another 242 in this condition again" It was a very surreal moment for me. To think that this saw was manufactured in 1991 and it doesnt have a single blimish... it's just unfathomable. And then I got to thinking how iconic the 242xp is along with the 254xp, 262xp, and 288xp. I mean this saw is 23 years old and in it's class there has never been a saw produced since that holds a candle to it. Even the current renderings of the 241cm and 543xp are completely encompassed in the shadows of the 242xp.

Im not a fan of this size saw probably due to my age and stature, I prefer 70 to 90cc saws. But holding the 242xp I can appreciate it's design and the footprint it has made as a legendary model. I dont mean to sound all sappy guys, but I truly do have an attachment to chainsaws. I am a power tool guy, but they are just tools. The chainsaws though mean a lot to me, I mean they are sentimental posessions of great value to me. I cant explain it, hearing it a person either understands and can relate or they dont.

Sorry for the spill guys, I just wanted to give this saw the "send off" it has earned.

You sure do have a nice collection of saws still. And I'm sure Walker will take care of it so don't worry... just be glad it won't be used as a firewood saw haha (I hope)

Im very thankful that Jack stepped up and bought this saw. It is no "beater" saw for firewood duties. It deserves top shelf treatment.
