The resurrection has begun. Ive torn down the 15 to different piles. So far ive fixed the pull start and lubed , good to go. Cylinder and piston look great, no scoring and low wear.Bar has slight wear,a filing should do the trick.Chain is good and could be orginial. Only nastys are fuel tank, which has slight rust, which I should be able to deal with no prob. Now about the carb,Its a tillotson, and its got a little varnish. Im soaking it in gumout as I speak, and its seems to be working well, butterfly is now freed up,But I took out the screw jets and Stupid me, Im not sure which goes where, since 1 is longer than the other, need a little help here.Which one goes where?which one goes closest to the Air filter end?

Remove the springs from the mixture screws and install one screw in either hole GENTLY thread it in until it bottoms, try this with the other screw in the same hole when you find the screws bottomed and at the same height, you have found their homes.

Thanks Sedanman, thats a good idea.I did something like that with a pipe cleaner and have a good idea about whats what.I suppose thats not too bad consitering ive got a whole saw splayed out on the bench. Too anxious to hear it run ,like the past coming back to life.

Ozflea , I will call on your wisdom again. Ive assembled the saw except the fuel tank, which im cleaning ,tryed 2 plugs and pulled through,no spark, any suggestions?

Remove f/wheel and check not only the points gap but also their condition you might also care why it's stripped down to get the condensor and coil tested.

Mc Bob.

Mcbob ,Ive got it stripped down again to that level.Points look good, meeting evenly and are not burnt. Ive burnished them with a piece of paper,Gap looks good.In order to get the coil and condenser tested should itug them from the saw? I will take them to my local shop,If they are bad ,Is that something that you have laying around? lets talk if so...

If the points or condensor are knackered they can be replaced with a electronic ignition assy for about $12-00 off Ebay and sounds a good way of cutting down on your maintance, to get the condensor and coil tested take your saw to your friendly dealer who will proberly have a tester with the f/wheel removed and the points cover off he should be able to test from there.

Happy day! It turned out that it was a combination o f a weak condenser and points that had some varnish on them enough to have resistance show on the multimeter. Have great spark now,But will probably have to glaze the fuel tank due to rust.Wish me luck...
