Well, he is looking for a good, hot heat source to keep his home above 34degrees when its minus 40 below zero.not only that,,but once mag lights,,you can throw it into water,,and itll keep burning......oxygen in the water.....fireman told me only foam will kill it....
Personally he should look into a double 55 gallon drum stove. If he lines the bottom with sand/firebricks/ concrete they put off an amazing amount of heat for long periods of time. They have an upgraded model with a somewhat airtight door and wellbuilt draft slides.
