heck i wouldn't mind punching in the numbers... its not like i'm doin thirty transactions a day... sounds inetesting . any you reccomend?

Thought about the credit card thing but the thought of paying to take a payment is bothersome. I don't mind drive to pick a cheque or cash but I think you can pay up to 2% or more for credit payments.

I hear ya.

I don't mind a small fee for a service like this. I wouldn't want do it all the time, but if it helps the customer afford the needed or wanted service, then I'll take 98% over nothing. Likely, I would just factor this into the bill, or categorize it as a service fee on the invoice.

Just some thoughts.

We don't ask for a dime up front. We bill after the job is done. It is called 'working capital'.

Same here. Never been stiffed in 15 years. I always make sure my guys or whoever is helping that day (sub climbers or whatever are paid) I even have some people on payment plans for big jobs I have done, just verbal, never got stiffed by them either. knock on wood!

I was taking the card, just key punching the numbas. That is until Quick Books started raping me! Going to set up with my bank. 2% is a real good rate.

I used a CC service through paypal last year. It was 30 a month for the service and then they wanted to hit me for 5%. Thing is...no one wanted to use a CC. I had 3 people ask about it and with all 3 people we just worked it out. They all payed me within a few weeks and all 3 were small amounts, so i didnt care. Last I checked I can "turn on" the service within a few minutes. As soon as I wanna use it I just gotta pay the 30 but I am good for a calender month. There is an app and a swipe thing that you can use with an Iphone.
