I'm not stooping much tonight. Thatched the yard today. All 44,000 sq ft of it. Why do I do things like that? :bang:
Lucky you,
Last week I raked the yard, then we had heavy winds, filled my yard with leafs, and now We have been getting snow.
Side cuts first. Interesting.
So you could get a barber chair just by putting the knock in first ?
Andy probably means putting ears AKA (side cuts) in the face cut. Ears are 2 slanted or vertical slits in the corner of the face. I put ears in big cherry, beech, walnut, and whatever else that looks like it needs them. Ears releive the fiber tension in the side of the notch making it, less prone to splitting, pulling fiber and barberchairing. Nice pics andy, big hemlock! :greenchainsaw:
I make a notch first, then side cut (ears).
Now I am a bit confused, I thought ears were Side cuts Horizontal in the corners of the face cut.
What ??? No full rap handle. LOL
Don't know if you know this guy. Here is what I was talking about.
