Hi all. This guy goosehunter(from iowa) is at it again. When his bidding gets going, all of a sudden some new I.D. with no feedback comes out of nowhere and jumps up the bid amount. You would think this type of thing would be picked up by the folks at ebay. I have written to them numerous times aboout this. Oh well, I suppose they dont care right?

yea . recently had a fella buy somethin then not answer the invoice or emails..
i figured he just changed his mind .. then the purchaswe price comes in the mail with an address to send too. the idea was not to have to pay shipping which i require.. it worked tho .
so i made 14 bucks less profit ..still made about 50 ..
so i aint crying.. if i didnt need the money tho ..no way id have let it go..
takes all kinds..

You know me, Tony, I'm just guessing on this one, but couldn't you send it C.O.D. for the value of the shipping cost?

Glen

I bet that's why lots of Ebay sellers always talk about shipping and handling charges right up front.

As far as Ebay "getting right on it", I imagine they figure they have as much timer as they want. I've seen sales just quietly disappear a couple of times, not "buy it now", either. Ebay will get a round tewitt, I bet.

I always like that justdavid guy. The other day I saw his auction for a 72 driver rs chain. I think bidding started at $35 and BIN at $40. Grrreat deal!

JustDavid if you are an AS member and you read this, please stop insulting our collective intelligence buy trying to sell us chains and such at double price. We may be dumb but we're not stupid. ok?

John

I think I bought some stihl parts from that goosehunter guy, or bid against him..I am not sure, but there was some deal with him in the past. I cant remember the details, but something was funny about that at the time. Sorry for all the sketchyness, but I have long term memory problems. A blessing, and a curse!

Yeah that david guy is too much!! I sent him an email once, just to chack out his attitude. He is strange. He tried to tell me that what you buy at the dealers is not good chain. He says that is not as good as his. I told him he's fried. He has no idea what he's talking about.

Steevo,
Goose hunter has been warned before. I have turned in quite a few including him. Will check him again as he has kept his nose clean for awhile.Sounds like he is back to his old tricks. The buyers
have to keep pressuring ebay to purge the unscrupulous traders.

somebody advise me if glenis rite about
being able to ship it cod..course it wouldreally have to be called freight pay on delivery..if thats possible ,id liuke to know... thanks anyway glen..

Tony, I don't think you can send it (UPS) freight C.O.D., but if the C.O.D. value just happens to be the same as the freight value, well, ain't that a co-inky-dink?  I think it costs a couple bucks extra for a C.O.D. due to the extra paperwork, but if you had to bear that expense out of pocket, it could still be cheaper than all the freight cost.

The recipient in your case could not complain that they'd already paid for the whatever and that you reneged; and if they refuse it, well, why would they, you've already got their money?

Glen

Watch out for that justdavid character:

This from my thread, "more ebay con games" http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11525&highlight=more+ebay+con+games

<<<I think he's after me..

Check this out, everybody. I placed a ~ $90 snipe bid on an item today. And chose the snipe company option to stay logged in for a while to ebay, I forget the exact terminology. I then left for work, and return home just now...no record of the snipe occurring.

However, I find that someone hacked my ebay password and bought me a $1199 laptop form internetshop....
There was also an email from me to that shop asking some weird question. I'll bet you $ to doughnuts that this scum David Albritton is the culprit. I rushed to change my ebay pword. I'll contact ebay right away. And call the computer co in the AM, I'm sure they'll understand and wont leave me negative feedback... I have had phone conversations wit them in the past, though
I've never bought from them.

As for "JustDavid" most of us have seen his cons. He started out a few years ago with outrageous shipping charges. He seems now to have moved on to high opening bids. What really sucks is he actually sells some stuff. He sold some 36" chains for $49.99. I had a nice heated exchange with him a few weeks ago over his chains. He will never tell you what brand they are. We exchanged about 5 emails and I still never got it out of him. He finally said it was "hybrid" chain he made himself. I asked him what cutters and tie straps he was using but he would not tell me. I have kept all the emails if anyone is interested.

As for goosehunter I do not know much about him. I do know he seems to get a lot out of whatever he sells. I have wondered about his affiliation with the Stihl dealer in Ottumwa. If you guys can prove he is a crook I may pay him a visit. He lives about 1.5 hours from me. Now do not get me wrong I am not talking about violence I would just talk to him. Seriously no violence. I am a peaceful man.
