Brother has a 170 that sees little use but always started and ran well. It sat for a couple of years and wasn't putting out oil. We put on a new pump, hose and filter. It was running before this repair. We had to take off the air filter and slide the carb off to get to the pump. Careful to keep garbage out.
Now it's hard to start and floods easily. It won't idle very well and dies when the throttle isn't hit. The more he used it today, it seems like it's starting better. I've tried to adjust the idler screw, but it's screwed all the way in and is barely idling. Seems that any screw position make no difference in idle speed. OEM carb.

Any ideas?
