Here is a link from ~10 years ago when I was rebuilding my 036. I got some great advice from two very smart long time AS members, THALL10326 and Lakeside53 a.k.a. Andy.
Both gentlemen emphasize not forgetting the wire coil/spring that goes inside the hose to prevent kinking.
I forgot that besides heating the hose, you can also put a little heat to the nipple on the oil pump. Some like to put the hose on the pump first, others like to install the ferrule and hose in case then do the pump.
