MS-441 Breakin

Just wondering if it is okay to start my 441 out on mobil mx-2t? Or should I be using stihl oil? I have only run the saw for about a half tank of the stihl oil the dealer put in it.

Change over and run it like a rental. Life will be fine.

Run the stihl oil for the first ten tanks, then you will be broke in.

Stihl (and me) says it will break in just fine on the synthetic - MIGHT take a tank or two longer. It's not like you are breaking in an iron bore against iron rings.

The Syn is only about 20% better as a lubricant than reguar dyno oil, but a heck of lot better at cleaning, so unless you want carbon particles to do your break-in for you... ... ...


Either way is fine though..

Just avoid WOT without a load, and prolonged cuts (like ripping from the end) during run-in....:greenchainsaw:

If you can avoid using a saw altogether wont work for me
A rocket scientist would be more rewarding monetarily but if you
are one of us die hards just run the **** outta that saw and enjoy!
