Do you need to reinstall the red limiter caps after readjusting the carb? Seems to me you could just throw them away.

I didn't reinstall mine as I destroyed them pulling them out. I do think it is a good idea though as they can mover after so much run time (possible).

I HAD PURCHASED THE COVER AND RETUNED AND IT HELPED BUT THE HOLE IS SMALL IN THE ACTUAL MUFFLER SO I PURCHASED THE COMPLETE AUSTRALIAN MUFFLER LAST WEEK STIHL PART #1128 140 0616 IT DON'T HAVE THE BAFFLE AND THE HOLE IS MUCH LARGER,MY SAW IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY IS THE REASON I BOUGHT THE FACTORY MUFFLER OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE MODIFIED THE ONE I ALREADY HAD:msp_biggrin:

You need to reinstall them. The carbs with caps have no springs on the needles to keep them from moving under vibration. The cap does this instead. If you leave them off, you'll constantly be fiddling with them to keep the saw in tune.
