i just bought a 660 and i was wondering what the little stack of plastic thats under the air filter is and whats its for

Is there an electric wire connected to this?

Carburetor heating element for models with heated handles and an on/off switch for heating???

dono what its for but i take it out and run the filter with the blue foam insert.
