Well my hopes were 'checked' a little today. The MS361 w/ 20" Farm Boss 3/8 x .050 is going to be $545.

Even though it's got a 'demo' sticker it's never had gas or oil in it. So it's a new saw. I know that and can't argue it and my reputation is more important to me than trying to milk every nickle. (Not by much mind you...)

List price: $549 was for a 16" bar. $559 for 18" and $569 for 20". I thought $549 was for the 20" since all thier 361's had 20's.

So it's only $24 off list...at $545. About 4.8% savings  ... $535 for the 18" and $525 for the 16".

Not stellar enough to make me pull plastic, but I'm not a volume buyer either, they owe me nothing really.

They did say I can just pay along till it's paid for which is like getting a chew toy instead of a ham bone. But it's 'financing' that costs me nothing for a saw I don't need...

Is Farm Boss just a label or is the bar different than a standard Rollomatic?

Just gotta decide if a 20" is better for firewood and whatever than 18".

And when I have them turn the chain around frontwards I'll ask for an RSC instead...and a file guide...and...

TIA,

Chaser

There is a new one now on ebay. It has a 'buy it now' price of $600 and 'free shipping' and no sales tax. Subtract the local sales tax here and that makes it a $555 saw. Bidding is going on for the next three days and its possible that you might get it for less than that; but, then you have to pay shipping and add that to your bid, to get total cost. If I didn't have one of the best 360 Pro's around, I'd sure be interested in it; as I use a new 361 at a non profit org here; and, its one sweet saw.

Well, at least you can say you didn't get taken on it. Fair price for a saw that's never had consumer oil in it.

As far as bars, the 18" or 20" will do you fine. And as far as I know, "Farmboss" is just a label. The current FB in the US is the MS290, and it takes the same bar mount as most of Stihl's saws- e.g. 361, 440, 660 etc.
