You have quite a bit of time to make a claim as misrepresented. Unless the description indicates specifically that the saw is not manufactured by Stihl then eBay will instruct the seller to give return authorization . And, if he does not they will refund your money anyway after a time period.

Sort of a moot point since you have been working on it.

What Zerojunk said. I'm an eBayer with enough (6K) experience to suggest, that you should CALL eBay. Wait for the answer from someone. Thank them for taking your call, and then launch your story. Have plenty of photos to support the fraud, They'll ask for 2.......and watch a return label magically appear. eBay now honors all returns, much like Amazon. The customer is always right. The seller is charged for the label to return, and upon delivery, you will definitely, certainly, most assuredly, get a refund.

Now, if you want to keep the POS knock-off, than figure it out on your own.

Could you test the coil with a multimeter before ordering new?

remove the plug, pull the starter. does the piston move up and down and blow air out of the plug hole? will it push your finger off if you pull it over hard? hold the starter handle and drop the saw,does it slowly drop or just fall?

Something like this actually came into the shop. MS440. Customer ha a "Buddy" put a piston in saw. Still had very low compression. Did diagnosis, all good otherwise. Pulled cylinder, found new piston and rings, crank and bearings in good shape. Proceeded to break the glaze on the cylinder with a small engine hone ( spring loaded so as NOT to oversize). Reassembled and compression returned. Started and ran well after a short break in (10 minutes). 2 years ago and still going. The rings need just a little roughness to seat. Worth a try.
Clean the the mounting points for the coil. Stihl recommends this. No ground, no spark.

New flywheel, new coil, and tried two brand new NGK plugs, but no spark. The ignition system is really basic, so if it is not a defective coil, ????

Sounds like you have a short in the kill wire circuit..

Have to check the squish, with compression as low as you describe (be nice to get some actual numbers), someone may have installed a cylinder for a saw with slightly longer stroke. Can't do anything until the compression issue is solved.

Bought the saw not working, so knew there were problems. Seller is not in saw business and did not know it wasn't a Stihl. She did however refund $200 so now I'm into it for slightly more than a new Farmetec including parts. In retrospect, I should have reassembled the saw and returned it for a full refund, but that is no longer an option.

As for compression, put both the OEM bolt in hole for decompression valve, as well as a new valve. Neither had any effect. Also thought compression gauge might be leaking but there is very low resistance when pulling on rope.

Thoroughly inspected cylinder, and could not see any cracks in it, but it's possible so might need a new cylinder. Bought the Hyway piston with Caber rings, so will probably go with Hyway cylinder.

As for no spark, followed instructions from manual and pulled the hot lead from coil. Nothing. Removed ground wire as well, and still nothing. The only thing I can think of is I got a defective coil.

Not fond of spending another $150, but also not fond of throwing away all the money I already spent too.

Opinions?

Junk it and by a real OEM saw and your aggravaion should end. China crap sucks.

Still confused u need pressure vac test before rebuild so know if need to split case or not but agree I just by oem or meteor but whatevs

Found the problem. There is an air leak between the crank and oil reservoir.

Already put two new case gaskets on it, so the case is warped beyond repair.

Anyone have an OEM crankcase in good condition to sell?

Bought a new crankcase, and new flywheel / coil. Now the saw has new OEM crank bearings, OEM crank seals, and a new Hyway cylinder and piston with caber rings, as well as new hoses and intake boot.

Put it together and it started!!!!!!!!!

Now it won't idle. Ugh.

Sounds like it is not getting enough air or fuel so pulled air filter off and no change. Pulled the clutch.....No change.

It has the Adama carb, which I cleaned.

Any suggestions?

Yes. Replaced the crankcase and cylinder, so the leak is fixed.

No. Already have over a grand into this &#@'ing thing so, didn't spend the money on a kit to pressure test.

And everything is new except for the carb, clutch, plastic, and tank assembly.
