muffler mod

I'm new to the forum ,and have a question on muffler mods.I just replaced my old supper XL auto with a 345 husky.I'm wondering how much louder the 345 will be with a muffler mod.It seems to be louder than the XL was right now, but it sure does cut a lot faster and this is with the chain that it came with.

Adding the equivalent of two 1/2" holes and opening up the stock muffler exhaust port along with port matching the muffler and exhaust gasket to the cylinder will make your saw noticably louder but will give it a nice power boost. This is exactly what I`ve done to a 345 and it worked very well. Make sure that you adjust the carb when done.
