170-175 psi with base gasket deleted normally ,i have saws with 220-225 ,they start easy ,i have never had an oem 1128 saw piston slap the head ditching the gasket ,does not hurt to squish test though ,i would not go below 17 ,it should be in the .021-.023 range ditching the gasket though on a 044Brian, don't U need to check squish if U do that? Also, if U don't have CR, does it make it "fun" to start?
I had one and if it sat for a month or so it was the hardest saw I've ever had to start. I have Dolmar that treeslingr ported. The guy I bought it from took the CR out and replaced it with a plug. I got tired of replacing the starter rope so I took plug out and reinstalled a CR. It's not so bad now. Why would anybody delete the CR?You ever pull a 288?
