Well I was out putting the final adjustments on the carb (cut, adjust, cut, adjust) was on my what i thought might be my final adjustment and the bolt that the air cleaner and top goes on breaks off, down the carb and locked it up with a nice hole in the side of the piston.

I am so mad I could just scream!!!!!!!!!:angrysoapbox::angrysoapbox:

Don't scream yet, it's all in the name of education. Good luck with her.

Read and hit both her and her husband with rep earlier. I will hit them again when able.

More importantly I will have them in my prayers.

Can't be pissed off when you got a Piston in the mail

Well folks, I am back in my first fix business with a new piston.

Got all of the metal and junk cleaned out of it tonight. Also got the new piston on the crank.

I am going to try and get it all back together in the next couple of nights.

Once again I would like to thank Mactodd for getting the parts to me.

Got it running

Well I put everything back together and to my amazement it actually started.

I re did my carb adjustments and tried again.

Seems like there is super compression. I can pull the starting cord about half way out and it jumps back in hard. Hard enough that it actually bruised may hand. Acts like it wants to start but needs to finish the pull to do so.

I did get it started again and it ran okay. Did some adjustments and the same thing again.

Without the plug in it pulls all the way through. Put the plug in and as I said "seems like there is super compression"

Any Ideas?

Does it smoke when it starts? If so, you may have oil in the combustion chamber which will dissipate with time. It's possible the oiler may have leaked and it ended up in cylinder. That would make high compression. Other than that the only thing would be that you may have the wrong piston for that engine.

WHEW dog. That saw cuts like a son of a gun. I reset the points and the coil gap and that seemed to fix it.

I put my air filter and cover on and headed to the wood pile. That saw with the dull chain double times my stihl 021.

I am so excited that I could hump my dogs leg!!!

Bull mastiff. Also have a 1/4 raccoon - 1/4 opossum $ 1/2 bi-polar mutt. Now my outside dog looks like a miniature lassie dog. Named him Pinky to make him tough.

Here he is Wild Billy

Thought I would post a couple of pics.

Welded a new screw for the air filter and cover. THIS TIME IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR IT TO GO ANYWHERE!!!!!!!

This is now tree ready!!!
