Well, I ran it a little today, still fighting some fueling issues that seem to come and go, and loosening bolts,.. it doesn't seem to vibrate badly, which is nice, and with an old chain is still pulled pretty good.

Ran into another issue, the decomp button was up against the chainbrake lever, so I had to cut it off.. the rebored (11/16th) carb doesn't feel like it's too much for it.

I have to get a new shraeder valve for the compression tester.. or a new tester before I can get a compression reading on it.. that pull rope sure feels solid though.

I went with good used bearings on the bottom end, and replaced the seals though.

And yes, I did keep everything stock looking... I'll try and get some video soon

Any of uns have to enlarge the decomp hole in the top cover after lowering? I've done a bunch that didn't require it but the last few have. O I'm talking about 394/395's

Thanks. Haven't really changed how much I'm lowering so it kinda had me confused but sometimes that's easily done. Is it just me or is a 394 stronger than a 395? Maybe I'm doing them wrong?

Agreed. Just finished a old 394 and after machine work the exhaust was 109! I like 101 but just went to 103 and it seems pretty sporty.

The piston in one of them is twice as heavy as it's stihl counterpart, it seems.

I'm sure u do one paticular saw more than the rest, mine is a stinkin ms660, i do 5 to 1 of them over another. Any good tips on breaking the monotony?

I've done more MS261s than any other saw. I'm sure I've done well over 100 of them.

I always keep a "other" project going. Like the hay baler, or a 4-wheeler.....

I'm sure I've ported 100 660's but I deal with loggers only so I never get any small saws. Smallest I ever port is a 372 its always a 90cc husky or stihl. Looks the same tastes the same and so on and so forth.

I get some huge gains out of the 261. For awhile everyone wanted one. They are still my favorite 50cc saw.

The 034 super is one saw that I'm impressed with. Those saws are Stihl's answer to the 2 series Huskys. In my opinion, there really ain't been better saws made.

I've got a few of them, one of them my dad bought new who knows how long ago and I don't think it's ever had a thing done to it. There a great saw
