Mystery homelite pictures.....now they're up!

Here is a picture,(hope it works) of the homelite That my dad used 20+ years ago. He bought it used and said it had a ton of power when it war running good but he had problems keeping it running decent. The serial tag is missing and the model on the recoil is rubbed off. I would like know what it is, what size, if it's worth fixing up,(are parts available).

Okay, how do I get a photo from my browse folder to a thread on this site?

Moe, have you took a look at Chain Saw Collectors Corner The page that I have here is the start of the homelite saw models. If yours is not on that page, just click on next page at the bottom. Hope this helped some. I would try to explain to you how to attach your pictures but I wouldnt do anything but confuse you more. I personally host my pictures and then just put the link up here. But maybe the link above will help you out. Does your saw have a metal ID tag on it anywhere?

Curt

I did check the link but many of the saws don't have a photo but only give color discriptions. This saw matches many of the discriptions of homelites made in the 60's. I am hoping someone will have on just like it and be able to tell me more about it.

That looks like a Homelite C7 or XP1000. I would say from what is left of that text it is a C7. I have both, And the C7 is all red, the XP1000 is the same as yours. The coulors on thease old Homelites is not to be trusted completely, besides parts can be changed.

There are no numbers on the other side, it just says "Direct Drive" The ad the Ray posted sure looks like this saw. Can parts still be had? It needs a muffler and probably a carb kit and ignition parts as well.
