I have the original chain that is on it. It's one of those green chain. I'm looking to get another chain or two for it. I really don't want those green chains for it. I will be mainly cutting firewood with the saw. So what type of chain would you guys recommend for it.

Fully agree. I have been using a lot of Oregon chains and feel they hold up well. Little cheaper cost wise.
I like the Oregon myself, plus I can get them for a lot less then Stihl chains. They'll be a lot of debate on the best chain, but for my needs Oregon is the way to go.

Thanks for all the replies. All know is I like Oregon chains better the husqvarna chains

If you are using it for firewood/personal use then pony up and get the Stihl RS yellow. There really probably isn't a noticeable difference for occasional users, but at least you will be supporting your local dealer. I have had success making a list and purchasing everything I think I might need for the year at one time. That was my local deal gets the business and sometimes will thrown in some goodies for next to nothing.....thus covering the extra cost on the chain and putting a new wedge or two in my bucket for being a valued customer.

If you are cutting in a location where you don't normally rock your chain before it goes dull by itself, Stihl chains are a better value because they stay sharp so much longer. Otherwise Oregon chains can often be found on online clearance sales for very favorable prices, such as loggerchain like Don just posted.

Get a Stihl, wahtever your needs.
I've just thrown away an Oregon which lasted far far shorter than it should have. I don't know how things are in your neck of the woods but here Blount hiked chain prices so much the difference with Stihl is negligible and at that point better get the chain that will last longer.

What he said! RM/semi-chisel holds up better when cutting in dirty conditions or dry, dead hardwoods. But RS/full chisel will out cut it in green, clean wood and is what I prefer(obviously!). Semi chisel may have an advantage in being a bit more forgiving in the filing department though.

Thanks for everybody's suggestions. I probably just stay with STIHL chains looking more the RS chain

Up until a short time ago Blount produced chains for Husky so if your chains are more than a few months old they were in fact Oregon, currently some of the sizes are manufactured in house.
