another dumb question. the filter holder apparently bolts directly against the carb without a rubber seal or gasket of any kind. this is hard plastic against aluminum. how does dust and grit not get sucked in at this joint?

Believe it must be easier for it to come through the filter. I’ve never seen a 372 carb with dust in it

I have to upload a vid to youtube for hosting. it's just running on my shop floor. will see if I can cut some rounds tomorrow. I set the hi and low screws at 1-1/4 out to start per the manual. will need to adjust in the cut. replaced the carb limiters I butchered (another 9 bucks) and trimmed off the tabs. it seems to be oiling well.PXL_20231212_222646446.MP.jpg10-10-23 2.jpgPXL_20231212_223147173.MP.jpgPXL_20231212_223127156.MP.jpg

Where did you find the carb limiter caps ?
They make carb adjustments a lot easier trying to get the screwdriver on without those caps is dam near impossible.
That's a heck of an anvil also ..what's that thing weigh ?

hey Ernie. the anvil is a 1913 American made Fisher that weighs 220 lbs. as to the caps, if you look up the part numbers, 1 of them is readily available, the other is a no go. in my hours of googling ,I realized that there was another non chainsaw pc of equipment that used the same ones. I no longer remember what that was but when I googled that I found that the 2 cap set was Walbro part number 25-524. in googling that I fount 2 sets on ebay. one was 9.00 (11.99 mailed). the other one was 25.99. those were all I could find. the guy with the cheaper set only had the one.

Did they come with the metal keeper that goes underneath on the jet shaft ?
Thanks for the info
