another question. in the photo, the pin circled goes into the threaded hole and the end just dangles into the huge recess. I have to assume that there is a rubber grommet with a hole for the pin that goes in the recess. the old tank I took off had a stack of washers in there. nothing shown in the 2 IPL's I have nor in the service manual I have. looked in the tank section and the antivibe section.

interesting tools. thanks for sharing. the press seems to work as well.
1 real benefit is the tool is sucking/drawing the crankshaft through the inside race of the bearing with minimal set up effort or possible damage to the case or bearing. He has a website to see all the thread and saw options.

do you guys have any pictures of these tools?
I think this is pretty much the full set except for maybe something obscure like the 346. It includes the 084 and 661 rods coz I'm mostly a Stihl bloke. The secret of course is the various threads turned into the threaded rods. The rest is just push pull stuff. I think Matt will sell individual items. Pricey for us poor Aussies but cheaper and easier to source than the oem Stihl tools.

I guess no one knows what goes in this antivibe recess since there were no comments, but it was so sloppy feeling I dug thru my bin of useless rubber parts and came up with a fix. feels really nice now.

that movement limiter buffer is pretty much exactly what I made. can't imagine why they aren't included in the IPL's or in the service manual. saw would be unusable when missing.

There is no rubber intended for the pocket in the tank.. It is as Huskihl said. It is kind of a safetey chain to keep from over flexing the AVs, and possibly mess up a tank. 385/390 Huskies and 2186/2188 Jonsered do the same thing. I would rethink using any rubber. I Missed your post #123.

No rubber grommet goes in that recessed piece of the tank ..just thread that bolt with the threads missing towards the end you have pictured into the case after you have the two together and your set .
There should be some movement between the case and tank threw the AV's
That bolts a limiter like mentioned above .
