I just acquired this Homey Super EZ along with a few other old saws. I noticed that the post that the right end of the top handle is broken down under the bar cover where it bolts on. You can see how it's leaning backwards a little. Would this part be aluminum or magnesium? If it's aluminum, I could get it welded easy enough. Of course it'd be even easier if someone had a spare they would part with.

I wouldn't want to say for certain, but I'd bet it's magnesium. An old parts SEZ I had was broken in the same spot and someone had fashioned a piece of steel to do the trick (ugly as it was, it did work). I might have that homemade support kicking around in one of my boxes if you're interested in it.

Otherwise, keep an eye on Ebay and you'll eventually come across a junk saw that the cylinder is dead in and you can get it for cheap.

I have the parts

Can you take off the bar cover and show a better view?

Little point in selling you a part if the case where it mounts is questionable

Take the mount off and make sure that is all you need.

Will do. I haven't even gotten them home yet. I work with the guy I got them from and he just brought them in today. I believe the case is good. I could see the screw holding the broken off piece on the saw. Of course I'll want to make sure it runs before procuring the part. I'm just checking for availability right now. I also need to repair the starter rope. A little cleaning off and fresh fuel and maybe I'll get lucky and have a runner. Maybe this can be my loaner saw:)

I replaced the starter rope, flushed out the fuel tank, completely disassembled the carb, cleaned it, and put it back together. No new parts:greenchainsaw: I put a little Kroil w/Silicone in the spark plug hole and turned it over several times. I then put the plug back in and she fired right up. Can't beat the for a saw that's sat for who knows how long.

I do need a few parts. Here's the post that I mentioned earlier. I need it as well as the screw that holts the handle to it. I also need one of the screws the holds the handle to the bottom of the saw. I also need the air filter cover and nut that holds it on. I have the element.

I have the brackets

I have the brackets in blue I will see if I have a red one.

Have the screws and will dig for an air filter cover and get back to you later today.

I am 99 percent positive it is mag/aluminum alloy which can be tigged but it happier brazed by a good gas welder......good luck finding a good one because all the really sharp guys are dying off and the new kids don't know much.

There are two different style brackets

And all the ones I have found so far are the other style with a shorter boss above the mount holes.

No luck so far on the air box cover either I KNOW I have some NOS ones but danged if I can find them.

Not to butt in on anyone's transaction, but I have all the parts you need, including the a/f cover, nut, bolts & bracket.
EDIT: I see you found the parts. No problem.

I got my new parts all installed. It's now a complete saw. The muffler was a little banged up so I pulled the cover to straighten it up. To my dismay, the piston is toast. The back side of the cylinder doesn't look so good either. I don't know how this thing even runs, but it does. I guess I'm now on the search for a good P&C. This is my first Homelite to work on. I'll probably want a set of crank seals while I'm at it. What else, I'm not yet sure. Anyone know if the P&C interchanges with any other models, or if there's another larger set that will bolt up?

If you're that far in, I would certainly put crank bearings in. They aren't that hard to come by. A grenaded ball bearing is what killed the first piston and cylinder on my SEZ.

As far as finding a replacement piston and cylinder, NOS units are around if you keep your eyes open. I put a good used set on mine, just because I found a parts saw cheap that had a good cylinder and piston in it.

Yeah, I'd rather find a good used P&C as well. I don't want to ge t a lot of money tied up in this thing. I would like to see it in good working order though. Especially since t's a nice complete running saw.
