Do you need to know how it's supposed to look installed?

Yes, that's what I needed. That's how I thought it should go. But how in the world do you load that spring that much? I think I'd bend mine before I got it that far. That's how I was trying to install it last night. It wasn't that way when I got it:dizzy: I'll try again tonight. Maybe I've got the wrong spring. Thanks for the pic.

One other thing. I need to clarify the order of parts installing the oiler and clutch. The back of the oiler has a round recess. Is there a washer/spacer that goese between the crankshaft and oiler that fits in this round recess? I also have a large thin washer. I believe it goes on right after the oiler and then the clutch drum. Correct? That would make the order of parts.. washer->oiler->large diam. washer->clutch drum/bearing/race->clutch. I wish I had an IPL for this thing! I found one for the XL but not this one.

What's typical compression on these saws? I was anxious to get it back together ad didn't have my base gasket yet. So I assembled with Dirko HT and have a squish of .017". I've run tighter than that on larger saws, so no concerns there. I'm just curious what stock compression might be for a number to compare to.

Thanks Guys!

Hey Brad! I guess that this means that I don't have to run out to the barn/shop and drag out some EZ's for photos!!!!!
Now it's about your turn for some pictures of the completed project.......Bob

Here she is

She's not a looker, but it looks like she's going to be a good runner. I finished buttoning it up after replacing the P&C with a good set I got from Farley. I had the cases split while I was at it and got everything cleaned up real good. It starts right up, idles good, revs to 11K, and makes 150+ psi compression.
