Jah.

Sometimes us young pups can manage a real loud bark every now and again. The rest of the time we keep our ears back, tail down and watch the action unfold.

You must have been the world's youngest dolmar dealer at age 11.:hmm3grin2orange:

Just looked at your profile. If your age is correct, I'll warn you that the next 30 years go by real fast. A friend was visiting today and we were reflecting how we are in denial that we weren't still mid 20's.

As promised

the picture of the underside of the reed block. Pretty well mangled. The larger triangular piece is sitting on the bottom of the case. Haven't found the smaller pieces yet.:( There is the sound of escaping air when I turn the crank. I expect that compression isn't great.

I have found several reed assemblies on ebay, but none of this particular shape. Anyone got one?
Thanks for all the help!

I have never seen a break quite like that in one of those saws....I have seen lots of breaks at the base of the holder and corners missing from the tips.

I wonder if Lakeside has seen a break like that

Just a thought..you may want to check the lower end bearings and the lower end bearings to make sure none of the pieces are missing I can see where a loose roller banging around in the case could do that type of damage

nope.. never....

Yes, do yourself a favor and take the cylinder off to check things out.

If you do this.... and the rod tilts to the side you are likely to have all the rollers from your big end fall into the case... Don't panic... it's not as bad as it looks to get them into position... use a heavy grease...

Before you pop the cylinder, look into the crankcase though the reed hole. Turn it over by hand... listen for clunks etc, and you should be able to see if anything is amiss. After all, you did say it ran...

That is indeed the weird part it ran without making a racket
