Its probably because you come off as cheap/not wanting to pay for full service and only want the part that you cant do to be done for you. We get that alot.

That's a pretty big assumption. From my experiences panhead9's are pretty typical of contractors and skilled tradesmen. I have a long list of people I'd never dream of calling again because they either never returned the first or second call or set up an appointment they didn't keep. I'm neither cheap or demanding. I return every call and keep my promises. I don't know whey others don't. Bad, sloppy business practices aren't an exception around here.

tree MDS, it is safe to say you would never be invited onto my property to do any work with that attitude. It would not surprise me at all if you do not even carry insurance or are a one man band. And one that probably does not even return calls unless desperate for work :) . :monkey: It just so happens I do not have time to do it myself because a day lost at work is worth a lot more to me than paying top dollar to a professional tree Man. These trees can fall in any direction and not cause any damage but to me time is money! And I don't have the time off. And Small Wood I have to agree with you 100% If I did not call any of my customers back in a prompt manor they would hand it to another guy! So all and all I will just do it myself when business slows down:greenchainsaw: Thanks for the replies and Have A Nice Day. :) :) ;) :) :)

Why do you want the trees dropped--perhaps you should call someone who knows what to do with trees besides cut them down!
If I did not call any of my customers back in a prompt manor )
Prompt Manor--is that a quick large house?

:chainsaw: :dizzy: :buttkick:

Now wait just a just minute before you go, I don't want to have you go cocked off. Surely you must be reasonable as I don't find what you are asking to be out of line? And surely someone must have sent you a PM.
Its doubtful I would be able to help you as I might be to far, I would look in to it if you wanted though.
You ask for a pro so you should know to expect to pay a pro, sure. I have been a legal, safe, and refered freelance climber for many a company, contracter, friend and homeowner for a good bit. What I would normaly say , had you called my office, is that for ME to SHOW with a PICK-UP w/ a winch and the bed FULL of GOOD gear you get MY LIABLE tushy for 400 for the day.
Of course we will go over any details in a detailed manner, that's what you pay for. Like say it would not take a full day then its 65 per hour.
Last job I did for a guy like you it was for Mr Hartman who had acess to a old whisper chipper and some buddies, one of which was pissed we woke him up and drove his HD over the limbs I dropped. He got stuck. They had to push him off the log to keep him rolling. Mr H. was a nut on the Wild Thing(real bad) while the laddies fed the chute. Before I worked for him I was dumping huge poplar logs 'out there' on his property.
I would love to be able to give you a hand but you might be to far.Actually I just looked and you are close to the great Delaware Water Gap and way to far to be cost effective for either of us. Sorry you can't find anyone.
Guess what? I ain't done, I offer a free saw demo every summer. Just 1/2 hour of me showing how you and they react in different types of cutting conditions and how to file the chain. I don't get all big and blown up about it or make you feel stupid if you suck or have a cheap saw as its for homeowners and it to try to make them safer. CAUSE YALL BE SOME CRAZY SOMSA#####IS WIF DEM THANGS
One more thing, that winch needs more love and money than my wife, if you know what I mean.

So you want to hire a tree guy, a one man show? This is your first problem, real tree guys aren't working alone. Tree work is a crew effort. Atleast 2 guys minumum.

I guess tree MDS was right. The cheapest tree service I know of in my area(im in NJ) is doing $1,000 a day and they have no insurance and old beat up equipment and during their lunch break they will ask you if you have a cold one in the fridge. Their work is what we tree guys call hacks.

Sure there is guys doing side work even cheaper than that with no phone number besides a cell, or a house number which rings to their mother's house since he lives in her basement, he even owns a saw and a pickup truck.

You want someone relaible, open the phone book, their is over 50 companies in your area to chose from. If you called the ads that are of full page and half page you will get a call back. Keep trying. These are the guys wanting work and have the staff, equipment, and telephone to call you back. Look for things like insured, licensed, NJ certified tree expert. If you are coming here looking for one tree guy to do a side job at a low wage while...you and the hungry tree guy driving states away is taking a chance. Roll the dice and next time use the Homeowner forum.
