Hi Guys,

I recently purchased a new 346xp and have a few questions.

Does anybody know how to tell if the saw has a catalytic converter muffler or not.. or whether it is an EPA saw or e tech saw? Just curious about it.

Also, i noticed that the muffler exits at the top under the plastic cover, does this mean anything as I have seen diagrams where the muffler exits out the side past the housing. Just worried that the plastic will take a beating from the exhaust.

So far it is a pretty nice looking saw. Have yet to use it though...

thanks

If its got the E tech stuff on it, there will be a green gas cap on it. this can be defeated EASILY with a dremel, or drill. the top exiting exhaust isnt necessairly a bad thing, it might be good, but I dont know.

Thanks for the replys guys.

Lawn Masters, thanks for the info. The gas cap isn't green i don't think. Actually I haven't paid much attention to it. I think it is black. I'll have to check. There wouldn't be a fancy sticker on the saw somewhere stating that it meets EPA phase XXXX or something would there? It says phase 1 and 2 I think.

HiOctane,

My thoughts exactly, thanks for the info. You would think that it was tested by husky to make sure it doesn't melt anything. But I guess it never hurts to ask.

Thanks again guys

Well, if you dont ask, you'll never know for sure. you gotta ask to know for sure.
