I'm thinking of getting a new longer bar for my Husky 372. The bar will be used mostly for cuttin' off stumps. (through cuts...I guess that's what you call them) I've got a 20" bar on it now. A 24" bar would probably handle most of the jobs, but for a few extra bucks would you jump up to a 28" or 30" I'm sure it depends on the trees you guys are cuttin' but what do most of you run?

I would go w/ the 28" bar. On my logging crew we only run 24" and 28" bars. We cut meidum to large sized hardwoods in NE IN. In the last 5 yrs. I can only remember a hand full of trees that had splinter pulls because we didn't have enough bar.
