WHATS THE BETTER OF THE TWO AND WHY?
THIS WEEK I WILL BUY ONE OF THE TWO. THE HUSKY IS CHEAPER PAST THE DIFF. IN WEIGHT I CAN'T TELL WICH IS BETTER....
SOME ADDVICE WOULD BE COOL I'V HAD PORB'S W/ THE 066 BUT DON'T KNOW IF THE "NEW" 660M IS BETTER. I DO KNOW ITS MORE EXPENCIVE AND UNFORTUNATLY......... THIS IS A FACTOR.:(

Everyone raves about the design and performance of the 066. I'd choose the Husky. -Personal preference-Huskies are cheaper, long lasting and sound better.:D

which saw ?

I guess i don't have to tell you that im waiting to get my hands on a 372 or 385 , what ever is your choice but ive had nothing but good luck with husky saws

141 ,350,61,326p5x powered polesaw

GET THE ONE THAT HAS COMMONALITY OF BAR MOUNT WITH OTHER SAWS YOU HAVE ALREADY.

That hurts the eyes, don't it?

I don't know why anybody'd want to pack the extra weight of the Husky around when they could have the lighter saw that will outcut it.

I've never had a bit of trouble with Stihl equipment.

saws

husky and stihl are both good tools it depends on what you like and the price

I run mostly husky at the end of the day I can still lift my elbows above my sholders with the way husky has its spring mounts, where stihl still run rubber mounts to me this adds to my fatigue

eg. 066 stihl is 92 cc and husky 395 at 94cc
the 066 pulls harder but the 395 is nicer to drive

good luck with your choice

saws

good call

it's the other way round down here husky is good to deal with
stihl give the dealers the heavy and are slow with parts

but thats just Australia for ya

I would go with dealer support. For me it's a no brainer. There are about 25 Stihl dealers in driving range and I can think of only one or two Husky dealers. In the past I've had trouble getting husky parts too.
Some areas are the opposite and have better Husky support.
Go with the tool with the best support, because they are both good saws.

so is that a yes or a no on the stihl:confused:

saws

and here in sydney it seems to be a fair mix of husky and stihl

i climb with a 023 stihl but all my other saws are husky the 023 just seems to put up with my abuse cheep too 2-300 from hock shop the last saw i bort was 3yrs ago good for palms all plastic no metal bits to get eaten away

but if i remember your qoute mike''there are so many better saws than a 026''

stihl topping saw over husky anyday.
husky 357 is a nice mid range saw, revs higher than stihl equivelant so nice if you're taking out small stuff all day.
if you're going onto a bigger saw you can't go wrong with either.......however if you're going for a saw you might want to use up a tree i'd probably opt for a stihl, they seem a lighter saw than the husky

The new "equivalent" saw in the Stihl lineup is the 361 and it reportedly revs a fair bit higher than the 357, making more power and, as typical, lighter.  It's probably smoother-running, too.  Russ (jokers) over in the chainsaw forum will give us the word on the 357 vs the 361 some time fairly soon, or so he's implied.

i ve been running to o66 for a long time and have been running the stihl 660 for a year now. my employer buys mostly stihl, but for power and weight distribution i prefer the husky 372 and a bit bigger the husky 395 is great also. i have to say i like husky's big saws over stihls, but i do enjoy the stihl 360 as an all around great saw.

Even though its a little pricey the MS460 is by far the best mid-range to lower high power saw. I have ran 372-3120 Husky's. they are nice an light, but they dont have "cajones" that the Stihls have. The old 066 is a top notch saw. and yes for the record I have climbed big spruce trees with that bad boy. (just make sure you have a steel core flip line.) In my humble opinion its like compareing a Big Block Hemi to a Chevy 350.

That's cool! Run what you feel comfortable with and like.

I have just found that saws just as good as Stihl exist for less money!

The 7900 being one of them!

so what's the thoughts about the ms361, anyone in here run one? I'm looking at buying one this week. Just thought i'd ask before dumping 500.
