The Echo CS1201 does not appear to have a chain brake on it.I wonder if it will make it to the US because of this?

The 320T and 350T look like direct competition for the Stihl and Husky top handles. I like the lil 3400, but the power (and price) is noticably less than the Big Two. I noticed this page was from Echo Japan- I hope these two models make it to the US. What does 3.3 Kg translate to?

I agree on the 1201, it probably won't be marketed here because of the lack of chain brake, and the spark plug boot is right next to the top handle. Could make for a shocking experience when the boot gets weathered.

Actually, Liters are my specialty. Alcohol was always my drug of choice, never liked or indulged in anything else. But alcohol turned on me and I had to give up a couple years ago. 100% drug and alcohol free now, unless you count sugar- I'm now addicted to coca-cola, about a 12 pack per day. :p

Thanks for the weight info, sounds like the 350T might be my future saw of choice!

The CS1201 is neat. Looks like their '70s-'80s industrial design. Also sort of an 090 and Husky F (?--that funny one from the '60s) combo.

Any idea what countries that thing would be exported to? Canada? South America? Where are our globe-trotting hotsaws racers?

There's also the "unsafe" <a href="http://www.echo-jpn.com/products/chainsaw/model_cs-60s.htm">CS-60S</a> "The best saw in a tropical atmosphere", but if one visits http://www.echo-jpn.com/products/chainsaw/list.htm (last modified Nov. 29, 2002) it's readily apparent that only the top-handle saw mentioned so far (above) is "new".

Note that only the two guardless saws are not rated "CE" while those that are appear to all have presence here in a different color.&nbsp; Maybe that implies the new models will be here before long?

Before that beer an hour ago I was dry for 18 hours.&nbsp; :<i></i>)

Hey guys,
I've got an Echo 3000 which I like very much for climbing in small stuff. Neat lookin saw but without the safety features I hope it never reaches the US. I can't believe saw manufacture's still make saws like that.

John

i two 3400 i ues for climbing i like the saws i also have 3000 good for small trees . i am intersted 320 t i will look it up after i get off here. hay brien and mike it is good to be sober 6 months now

Why is it that all us drunks like the Echos? :D Congrats, William. I'd be happy to discuss that issue anytime if you like, off the forum.

I gotta find out when the 350T will be in the USA. Looks like a Stihl eater! :blob2:

THe one advantage the echo 340 has is the handle is better than the stihl and husky. Why make a saw with the same BS handle with a carb built into it, right where your hand should go?
So now the 350T has the same problamatic handle, with non of the power. Sounds like a lose, lose situation to me.

Where the heck is RJS? Beside me, he's the only one who knows a hoot about top handled saws.
Gypo knows how to make a bad angle on the cutters.
EPH knows how to make it cut fast.
DC knows how to brag, if he were to win a race with it.
Z knows how to shine it up and take a picture of it.
Glens knows why it cuts, or doesn't.
Ricsaver will say I am being rude.
Mike Hunt, will have an itch.
Grateful will konw it's history.
Tony marks will misspell it.

I'd be more worried about the rough use breaking that exposed plug.

Let's face it, our stuff gets thrown about a bit!

The truth Mike i was looking at the Echo top saws just last week because the husky dealer wanted to being them in because no one liked the husky saw, for what i have heard up here the guys like the echo topsaw better than the big 2 guys but i have to say there big saws are not much , the Echo rep. didnot ,wouldnot bring any of them in to show us.

now there trimmer looks great plus there starting design is very neat, so i think the trimmers will sell great here , great for people who have trouble starting stuff

The same as a 090. Anyone ever break a plug on a 090 ? H"ll if it runs like one I do not care.
