New Ford saw running

Here is my new Ford, both of them actually.

Well the one is old but its fairly new to me and it is a runner again as of today.

Quite a interesting little saw to work on, its put together quite differently.

I had to make a new grommet where the fuel line goes into the tank and rig a new tank vent but other then a line and carb kit it was pretty much good to go. The little son of a gun even has a decomp on it and a oil pump that pumps everytime you depress the throttle.

Anyone know anything about these? I know its a Orline made saw, but what is the Orline model name as well as the Ford model name?

It also has a weird air filter setup if this is original .

Give me any info you can on it.

My wife would lose her mind if I could get her one for a paperweight and p.i.t.a remover at her office for Ford. Seen a lot of neat Ford stuff,but never a saw. Top notch....

That is the Ford-Eagle I believe and crosses to the Orline Mark I & Mark II.

I've always wanted one to match my tractors but not at that price.That one looks very well used.

Yeah I thought of remington too. Only cause my Dad's Mighty Mite has a throttle that pumps oil, along with a manual oiler. doesnt have the .325" chain though!

Joe, I think word has it that Orline made engines for remote control airplanes, and the engine on this looks that way, the way it just bolts into the case.

Anyone know of a good parts source for O&R saws?

Nice find Mark, The saw ain't bad lookin either.
I'm an old Ford nut, and I never saw one of those. Amazzing, because my uncle used to have all kinds of equipment that carried the Ford name. Everything from lawnmower, air compressor, power washer, you name it. But didn't know the saws existed. Makes sence though.

Yeah Brandon USED to have one, but now I have one. I think he took a look at repairing it and decided not to.

It was a little bit of a challange. You would have laughed if you would have seen me with a too big rubber grommet chucked up in my drill press turning it down with a 4.5" grinder with a tiger disk in it, then cutting the groove in it with a air powered 3" cut off wheel.

I had to pull the insert out of the tank vent with a metal screw and found that a Homelite duckbill valve fit perfectly inside it.

The carb will also not come out of the saw without unbolting the motor from the case or double nutting the carb studs and removing them first.

And let me also ask, dose anyone know of a good parts source for O&R saws?

Very nice indeed, but I couldnt haul much firewood in that thing, and it would look funny with a 5th wheel hitch mounted to the roof.


And Ale, that XL is not that easy to find especially a long bed and I prefer my trucks without carpet!

Them yuppies can keep there carpet and shortbeds.
