I sold a boatload of Yukon Husky's years ago...they wore like iron, but when run strictly on fuel oil, not very efficient. Last one I sold was in the mid 80's

The guy I got mine from said the same thing. Also said that the wood heat was unbelievable. I think it cranks out alot of heat and have no interest in the oil burning part.

After about 12 years of use the furnace rusted out and could not be fixed

I think the earlier models had steel heat exchangers and the newer ones have stainless steel. I was talking to the owner one day and he said since they made the switch they haven't had any burn out. New heat exchangers can be bought and installed in place of the old steel ones is what he told me.

Hey Mnfarmer

Do you have any updates on the new furnace? Kinda waitin' to pull the trigger till I hear from a few people. Looking at the same furnace you got.

So far it's working really well. Keeps the house at a steady 72. One thing I have noticed on the overnight fires is there isn't much left by morning.. usually enough coals to get a fire going again but the house temp. has dropped a few degrees by then. It seams to be burning pretty clean, I think that afterburner set up they have works well. The only problem I am having is with my ductwork... I don't think we have it sized right, but that really has nothing to do with the furnace. Hope this helps.. any other questions feel free to ask or you can call the factory too. I think they have their 800 number on the website, if they don't let me know and I'll get you number for them. I talked to Keith quite a bit before buying mine, he knows his stuff!

So far so good. Last Tuesday morning I had -30 and the house was still 67 with a bed of coals left in the furnace. At night I shut the thermostat off and just let it idle. Seems to still keep the house warm and still have coals in the morning to get the fire going again. I looked up the chimney today and there isn't ANY build-up at all since I hooked up the furnace. It must be burning a lot cleaner than I had originally thought. Well if you have anymore questions I'd be glad to help anyway I can!!
