Man I gotta learn to type faster.:D

Or not reply to post's when my wifes not home and my little girl has me doing twenty other things.

The MS210 will be a great saw you'll like it.

Do the twenty other things, this will come up again when she's older and has better things to do than hang out with dad. Reply to them.

Did I tell ya my son turns 2 on Saturday? He already has three chain saws - Stihl, Craftsman, and an orange and blue one that says "Home Depot". He calls 'em "VROOM-Vrooms"

Man, derailed this one, huh?

Which one sounds better though? When my son uses his Craftsman he says he is "chaining" the wood.

bump_r I do the twenty other things that’s why it takes me 30 min. to reply to a post. My little girl just turned two in Feb. she already knows a chainsaw on sight and she even knows the bar and chains by name, not sure that’s a good thing, my wife says it just points out my addiction. She "helps" me with the wood sometimes and that takes me three times as long as well, but I don't mind. The way I see it those kids are the most important thing we will ever do in our whole lives, people these days seem to forget that. The kids come first no matter what, the job, house, bills, and of life’s other “priorities” are just to pass the time.

Wow it let me give you a good rep bullet for such a great post.

The Home Depot is far and away the best one. one-button push and it's idling, pull the trigger to rev it up. Nice rubber chain with alternating-diorection "teeth".

The Stihl is second, replacable chain (came with a tool to remove the clutch cover bolt and a spare bead-chain!), but the trigger effort is way too high. The silver stick-on "muffler" looks to be easy to mod (straight edge and a sharpie, it should be good to go! I'll post pics of the mod)

Last place is the Craftsman. Different body and top handle, but the chain, bar, and bucking spikes (sorry, this is AS... "DAWGS") are identical to the Stihl. Some family heritage, I'm assuming. The trigger effort is OK, but the general sound is weak, and the chain bogs to a stop every go-round. I found that the chain loop connecting link (well, the knot in the string...) is elongated, making the sprocket/chain interface an iffy affair at that spot. If I can, I will put the spare Stihl chain on it and change the batteries and see what gives. Might be another hop-up thread. I'll look into the muffler on that one, too.

Need a "family portrait" of these machines?

In the words of Blind Mellon Chitlin'...Ratt ohwn, ratt ohwn, ratt ohwn!

Oh yeah, I remember seeing that. My kid's Craftsman is black - must be the XP model, huh?

Bump, Your not saying here that the Craftsman/Poulan and Stihl saws are made in the same plant are you. :hmm3grin2orange:
Just couldnt let that one slide.

Are you heading down south for Ralph's gtg?

I think they're all Chinese knock-offs.

I'd LOVE to go, but I'm real hesitant to get in on the topic just to bow-out last-minute. Gotta see how things at home am as it gets a little closer.
