I believe the picture was posted just to "show off" a really sweet looking Pro Mac 10-10, not to sale it. There are plenty of these saws on Ebay and you may even find something in the tradin post on this site, if the post is back up and running yet.

Edit:
May want to take a look through the swap meet thread also.

There are lots of 10-10s out there for sale..right now I plan on keeping mine, for awhile anyway. If you want one like the ones pictured, they won't be cheap!

Have looked and I see a bunch of pro macs but not 10-10s.

Just keep looking when you get a chance...I've seen lots of them on there. It changes pretty much daily. I just got done looking on ebay and within 2 minutes I saw at least 5 10-10s for sale. At the top just type in" mcculloch 10-10 chainsaw" and there they are!

a.palmer, there is a big difference in a 10-10 and a 10-10S
A 10-10S is 57cc, has a plated bore, and huge transfer ports. Much more power than a standard 10-10. They usually go over $150 for a running one.

Yeah been looking with no luck yet. Thanks.

I thought you meant that in the plural, such a dog(s) or car(s). Now I'm gonna go look and see if I have a 10-10s. The 10-10 saws must be pretty good, even without the chrome bore, to have lasted so long! I think I have three, and all are really good runners..

Yeah I have two, one the rip cord keeps coming loos, I think it the spring inside that area. The other runs OK.

Yeah, those are real fun to repair. On mine the end of the spring would break off. It is possible to heat it and bend it, but I ended up putting a new spring on it. I think the spring fits several different saws, so it was easy to find.

Do you lnow if springs for the 10-10 and the 10-10S are interchangeable?

Springs should be the same, as long as you are talking the same starter, i.e. right hand springs should work on all right hand, all left hand starters should be the same, but not mix and match. I have a stash of NOS RH starter springs.
Now for the pics.

NOS pistons. 10-10S is on the left, standard 10-10 (+.020 OS) on right.

The IPL's that I have show different part numbers, 83334 for the 10-10S and 87680 for the Pro 10-10, MAC 10-10, and MAC 10-10A.

Different part numbers doesn't always mean different different parts with McCulloch, you may have to find someone with a reference list that can cross those part numbers. The older 10 Series service manual shows two different springs that can be used interchangeably but does not reference the part numbers, however I know from experience that the original was 68626 used in all of the RH start saws.

Todd, are you sure the RH start springs won't work in the LH start saws?

Not 100% sure, but the housings are slightly different size, and the pulleys are different. If I didn't have a car to put back together today, I'd check them out.

Looks like the pistons have different pin height, not sure, it may be optical illusion; I was also thinking the springs were the same, not just for Macs, but seems like that spring fits other brands, like Homelite.
